{"id":122,"date":"2010-12-12T14:35:10","date_gmt":"2010-12-12T21:35:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/thedoorguy.com\/blog\/?p=122"},"modified":"2011-02-01T18:58:13","modified_gmt":"2011-02-02T01:58:13","slug":"magnetic-door-stops","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/thedoorguy.com\/blog\/magnetic-door-stops\/","title":{"rendered":"Magnetic Door Stops"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I recently did some door tuneup work at a nice hotel in Avila Beach, California.\u00a0 They had a variety of problems:<!--more--><br \/>\nLocks not working correctly<br \/>\nClosers not ada compliant<br \/>\nDoors too tight or dragging on tile<br \/>\nWeatherstripping ineffective<br \/>\nProblems with hold open devices<\/p>\n<p>I was able to solve all of the problems on each of their interior and exterior doors but this last one was kinda funny so I thought I would mention it.<br \/>\nSince the hotel was completed several years ago they have been using odds and ends to keep the room doors open for maintenance, cleaning, bringing in luggage, etc.<\/p>\n<p>This is a picture of one thing they had been using&#8230;It is a door closer bracket that is not used in all situations.\u00a0 The had put &#8220;Door Stop&#8221; name tags on them.<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/thedoorguy.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/12\/IMG_7139_800x600.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-123\" title=\"IMG_7139_800x600\" src=\"http:\/\/thedoorguy.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/12\/IMG_7139_800x600-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"customer's idea for hold open device\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nI replaced them all with Soss magnetic door stops:<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/thedoorguy.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/12\/IMG_7140_800x6002.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-133\" title=\"IMG_7140_800x600\" src=\"http:\/\/thedoorguy.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/12\/IMG_7140_800x6002-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"Soss Magnetic Door Stop\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/thedoorguy.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/12\/IMG_7142_800x6002.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-135\" title=\"IMG_7142_800x600\" src=\"http:\/\/thedoorguy.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/12\/IMG_7142_800x6002-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/thedoorguy.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/12\/IMG_7144_800x6002.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-136\" title=\"IMG_7144_800x600\" src=\"http:\/\/thedoorguy.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/12\/IMG_7144_800x6002-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>They come in a variety of finishes and are easy to install.\u00a0 They hold the door nicely even those with door closers attached.\u00a0 One word of caution:\u00a0 They are designed for interior use only.
