Door Repairs, Weatherstrip & Adjustments
In recent years we have been trending towards exterior doors made of 
fiberglass, steel, vinyl and other synthetic products. These doors carry a multi year warranty, usually in the twenty year range. When installed correctly they really present very few problems over time.
While getting a nice new door is certainly more fun, often it makes sense to tune up an existing wood entry. Sometimes the wood door just fits in best with the look of the home or office or perhaps a new door is not in the budget right now.
In either case it is usually possible to tune up an existing door:
- Trim doors for proper clearance so that they don't stick when opening.
- Square up and clamp separating doors.
- Repair or replace areas of door or jamb damaged by rot or termites.
- Adjust or replace locks for smoother operation.
- Replace weatherstripping that sticks to latex paint on doors.
- Rework thresholds and other seals to prevent water and air leaks.
